Appointed by Robert Bird Group, Pascall+Watson was the lead design consultant for the new 28,000m² 4-star hotel. The design & build project for the developer Majid Al Futtaim was built by the main contractors Laing O’Rourke and completed 2019.

Located in the historic heart of Dubai, the hotel brings a fresh approach to the traditional hotel landscape with its emphasis on a lively, in-hotel social scene, vibrant interior design palette and thoughtful incorporation of technology. The 304-bed hotel, is the Middle East’s first cinema-themed hotel, featuring a climate-controlled rooftop cinema and several bespoke suites specifically designed around movie-related themes such as Hollywood, Bollywood and super-heroes.

With direct connectivity to the Deira City Centre shopping mall, the facility introduces six unique dining concepts to the local area and offers business meeting facilities which are fully equipped with the latest technology, a fitness centre and an infinity pool with sweeping views of the city.

The 28,000m2 LEED Gold rated building was designed and delivered within a fast-paced programme of just two years by adopting a modular design approach and utilising off-site construction techniques.
