UNIVERSITY FOR THE CREATIVE ARTS
HARMONISING THE UNIVERSITY BRAND ACROSS CAMPUSES
Following a rigorous competitive assessment process, Pascall+Watson were commissioned by the University for the Creative Arts to develop a strategic 10-year masterplan across its four campuses – Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham and Rochester.
The primary objective of the exercise was to provide a framework for the university’s planned capital investment; an investment that would see it maintain its position as one of the country’s premium educational establishments for the creative industries and that harmonises the university brand across the different campuses.
The masterplan study maximised the potential of the creative community to encourage interaction, transparency, innovation and intervention, engendering a creative hub for all of the campuses and delivered a strategic framework for the sustainable expansion of the university.
Significant reduction in carbon emission was achieved which instigated other environmental measures to create a truly sustainable campus. Pascall+Watson identified space efficiency and utilisation opportunities within this masterplan study.
Since completion of the masterplan, Pascall+Watson have been involved on every new-build commission at the university over the past seven years.
“Our work on masterplanning future-proofs the facilities to provide an enhanced offering to students and realises the University’s vision to be recognised as a global authority on creative arts, creative technologies and business for the creative industries.”
