THE UK’S LARGEST AVIATION INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

The comprehensive £1bn Transformation Programme will make Manchester Airport a “northern gateway” for England and greatly improve both the experience and its ability to meet the evolving needs of passengers and airlines alike. Pascall+Watson have been working from feasibility stage leading a multidisciplinary design team, providing end-to-end architectural services for this 10-year investment programme.

We have created infrastructure plans to accommodate projected passenger growth, incorporating an effective balance between commercial considerations, the operation of the live campus, and associated passenger benefits. The phased approach of the development will ensure minimal disruptions to the ongoing operation of the airport. The project is currently on site.

The complex transformation programme comprises a series of 60 enhancements. Key elements amongst these enhancements include the extension and reconfiguration of the existing Terminal 2, (doubling its size), new piers, aircraft stands, new forecourt areas and multi-storey car parks..

“This transformation project allowed us to create a modern aesthetic while revitalising and expanding existing facilities for future use”
